What does 'informal workshop' performance mean?

Informal workshop performance means that we perform our show for parents/family/friends as if were on a Broadway stage but we we use our creative imaginations, costumes from home and minimal sets/props and lighting to tell our stories.  Since 'workshopping' is the process that many plays/musicals take on their journey to Broadway we pride ourselves on keeping kids focused on the process and joy of performing.

Who teaches the camps?

Currently all classes are led by our founder Brandon Becker who has successfully taught/ran/founded theatre summer camps around the nation. CLICK HERE for more information!

What do students say about the camps?

I spent many incredible summers at Mr. Becker's camps. Through a synthesis of theatre history, choreography, playwriting, and stagecraft, I learned so much about how a show comes together. He fosters an environment of uninhibited creation and joy, ensuring each student has the best possible experience. The spirit of creativity that I gained from these camps is something I still remember and will always hold dear. I feel so lucky to have been a participant and cannot recommend it enough!  -  Amelia G

“Mr. Becker’s summer theatre camps were so much fun! He always had great activities planned that allowed us as students, regardless of prior experience, to feel successful and motivated, whether our performance was great or flawed. He helps each student grow from where they are using positive and engaging techniques that never seek to belittle or berate. He nurtured a love of theatre and performing in me at a young age.”  - Hazel K

"I attended Mr. Beckers theatre camps for several summers before Middle School - his sessions were fun, energetic, and engaging. Mr. Beckers skill and knowledge in performance allowed me to grow as an artist, learn the importance of risk taking, create lasting ensembles, and ultimately follow my pursuit as an artist professionally. I can’t imagine a better way to have spent those summers!" - Ella G
